Killing in the Name
The voices and stories of victims and survivors are a poignant reminder of the real human costs of terrorism and are uniquely capable of reminding those who sympathize with grievances expressed by extremists of the costs associated with resolving those grievances through the use of violence directed at innocents. To highlight the experiences of those directly and indirectly affected by acts of terror, Global Survivors Network partnered with Moxie Firecracker Films to create a documentary film, called Killing in the Name, directed by Jed Rothstein.
Since its world premiere on 28 July 2010 winning Best Documentary at the LA Shorts Fest, Killing in the Name has screened in over 9 countries in 3 different languages.
In January of 2011 Killing in the Name received an Oscar nomination for Best Documentary Short Subject by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences. In September of 2011 Killing in the Name made its US broadcast premiere on HBO.
